Walking for a GREAT CAUSE!

Last weekend I took a night off from crafting reading writing to do something really great. The light the night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with a dear friend who fights leukemia everyday. He makes it and me look so totally bad as he is in such great shape even now he reminds me of batman. He has remain the same cool guy and makes me want to pull my hair out ( I mad him pull his out months ago) becuase we drive each other just a little up the wall but that is okay. He inspires me with his easy smile giving nature and the fact that I still have not found his secret layer (batz come on... I promise I won't take the bat car out). But it was a positively wonderful and meaning filled experience that makes me proud that I walk with him.

Here are a few photos of us all walking. Our mascot was a ninja who was crouching so there we several painted faces.(Thank you to faces of hope : face painting)  I even got my face painted with a little swirly thingymabob but smeared it before getting to take a photo. Oh well next time.

Next year we will have to do more to raise money and get people we know envolved.

(batz and byrd hand in hand)

All of us walking.

(getting her ninja mask panted byrd)
 (almost at the finish line)

I want to say thanks to his wife(CJ) for inviting us to walk and giving us the bracelets and etc ;) also to eveyone on our team you all made it fun and I hope to see you again next year.

Working Mom in the City part:1

Yesturday morning I laid back and relax after waking up and forgot honestly what year it is, how old I am and that the little Love Byrd is in the next room. Time seems to stand still I am in a moment 6 years ago where the sun is peeking into my bedroom. My alarm has not gone off, My fingers and my toes match and everything is peaceful, quiet and my sense of self is rather balanced.

And then in the briefest of seconds: The alarms goes off some feet are in my face (thanks) my ear ring is jabbing me in the neck, I am half way off a California King sized bed... I have no idea how it happens every morning. And just when I am about to sit up it dawns on me that the alarms has been going off for more than 5 minutes. I cock one eye open and the red devil of a clock say 7:30 am. I have to get shoes, clothes, coat it 50 outside a quick brush in my hair and byrd's hair and then try to get out of the door before the clock says 8.30. The alarm on my phone tells me we aren't going to make that 8.30 deadline. And then byrd reminds me "YOU promised to go to that new park tonight after work" And I try really really hard never to break a promise or post pone something that I say we are going to doy because of me stuff.  And just when I get to work and look at the flier one more time I notice with a heart dropping plunk the hours are for stay at home moms my coupon is no good, My promise of a wonderfully awesome park day is still going to happen today but it will cost me 15 dollars to get in instead of just 4 and then some token not to outrageous but still come on. What happened to Deal of the day for working mom's. Somehow I think society takes for granted that Working mom's just like stay at homes are fun loving deal wanting groupon buying kid wrangling moms who need to get the same Quality (make the kid sleepy) time in that most businesses take for granted when they hike up the cost after 5:30. Whats the deal? Can't there be a special Working mom's deal of the day?

So what is a blogging working sewing and dramatic deal loving Mama to do? Any suggestions?
